Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman Fantasy Casting The Kindly Ones Maiden- Amber Heard Mother- Julie Walters Crone- Vanessa Redgrave So Maiden was pretty easy. There are tons of young, beautiful blonde women in hollywood so no problem there. For Mother, I cast Julie Walters who played Molly Weasley in Harry Potter because she gives off such a strong maternal air but it would be interesting to see her play more of a villain-y type and crone was Vanessa Redgrave. It’s hard to find a crone-like actress so I just found a talented actress and hope that she can make us believe she is, indeed, a crone
